Plaid And Pearls

Hi Lovelies!

I don’t know about y’all, but I froze my butt off here in Austin yesterday. Talk about a cold front! It was 80 degrees here on Tuesday and yesterday its was 60! I mean, I know we have all been praying for fall, but I take it back. Haha! This is why I live in Texas….we’re not supposed to deal with that type of temperature until well into November or December. Thank goodness it was only one day! Well, while the cold lasted I broke out the layers and bundled up:) Plaid is HUGE this season, especially layered under a cozy sweater like this one. By the way…this sweater is the softest thing I have ever felt, props to Target for making me swoon the moment I touched it.

A Good Old Printed Peplum

Hi Lovelies!

I am SLOWLY….very slowly, but surely learning how to take pictures that aren’t in automatic. Aren’t you proud? Don’t they look fabulous? Yeah, personally I don’t think that they look all that different…but maybe that just means I am an expert automatic photographer:) Haha! Well, on to today’s outfit, featuring my new photography skills! I got this shirt a while back at Francesca’s and it is my go to “comfy, but still looks like I tried” shirt. And really, what goes better with a comfortable shirt than leggings? Nada.

10 Ways To Wear A Scarf

10 Ways To Wear A Scarf

Hi Lovelies!

I went through about 24 years of life having never really worn a scarf for anything other than the good old purpose of staying warm. 2012 comes around…and so does good old Charming Charlie…now a year later I have a HUGE collection of scarves, and an obsession just as big:) I never realized exactly what I was missing out on. I had no idea that just a little old scarf could make your entire outfit come alive! Now that I have this ever growing collection of scarves, I have found some pretty cool ways to tie them. See below for directions on how to tie each of these masterpieces!

Three ways to tie scarfs1. The Basic Knot– Just tie a knot in the middle of your scarf and you are good to go! Easy, but still cute!

2. The Double Wrapped Infinity- Tie a knot in hour scarf near the end. Then wrap the scarf around your head again for the doubled over effect.

3. The Kerchief– Grab scarf by opposite corners instead of the ends, place scarf on backwards and then pull the ends back around to the front. By using the corners instead of the flat edges, you get a more full look.

A fun scarf with a plain shirt4. The Infinity– Tie a knot in your scarf near the end and pull the knot about half way up to your neck!

5. The Belted Scarf– Put your scarf around your neck. Spread it out a little across your chest area. Put a belt around your waits/over the scarf. Ta da!

Three more ways to wear a scarf6. The Double Loop– Fold your scarf in half to make a loop. Pull the opposite end of the scarf into that loop. (Should look like #9) Then twist the loop around once and pull the end though once more.

7. Seeing Double– Take two scarves and twist them together, then fold them in half to form a loop. Pull the opposite end of the scarf into that loop.

8. The Bow– I find it easiest to do this one when it is not on me already. I usually loop is around something like my bed post and just tie a bow. Easy as that.

Plain scarf for a casual look9.  The Loop– Fold your scarf in half to make a loop. Pull the opposite end of the scarf into that loop.

10. Twisty Loop– Twist your scarf until it starts to twirl around itself. Then do the loop. (#9)

If you have any questions about how to tie any of these scarves leave me a comment and I will try to explain as best I can. It’s hard to communicate scarf tying…haha!

Do you know of any other awesome ways to tie a scarf?

Until tomorrow…

The Lust List: Things I Want

Hi Lovelies!

Welcome to my wishlist! These are all of the things I wish I had this week….too bad I don’t grow money on a tree in the backyard. Great, now I am sounding like my mother….that’s fantastic.

All That Glitters Lust List

  1. This necklace from Groopdealz. I am such a sucker for jewelery. I think I probably own more of it than 10 people combined…but this is just SO pretty! How can you not love a big statement piece like this? And that cobalt color is to die for!
  2. Can someone PLEASE buy this for me? This has GOT to be comfortable…though I would probably never leave my living room if this was in it.
  3. I have a bow obsession. I mean really, who doesn’t? They are so girlie and wonderful. This little guy is only $5.99 on Groopdealz, meaning I might need to add it to my little finger soon:)
  4. I am such a dress person and this one is on my shopping list for sure! I just love the flowers at the bottom, and that cap sleeve probably makes it super flattering. Can I just note how random the price is though….$34.43? Lol….
  5. Polka dots! I have seen so many of these around, mainly the ones from J Crew…but really who can afford a $100 sweater with all of the other things I NEED to have as well? Yeah, not me….Forever 21 it is then, because $23 makes me happy!
  6. This little guy has been haunting me on other peoples blogs for a while now. It would be great to put all my stuff in to travel to Dallas every month OR to take when I’m doing outfit posts in case I decide I need to switch it up!
  7. In case you haven’t notice I have a nude shoe love. These will be a perfect addition to my collection! Groopdealz has really got it going on with these, they also come in black…and $22 is so easy on my bank account:)
  8. First of all, I love that you can always find the coolest, most unique things on Etsy. This shop will take handwriting you give them and make it into a necklace. I really want the hubby to write love for me and turn it into one….except he has chicken scratch and you wouldn’t be able to read it….<sigh>
  9. These teardrop bead necklaces have been EVERYWHERE! I have been trying to find one that isn’t $30-$40, because I don’t like to spend a ton of money on super trendy things. Well, Groopdealz has it for $10! Yes, $10…that means I can buy 3 for the price of 1 elsewhere…I may just need a few different colors!

What things are you craving this week?

Until tomorrow…

My Undying Love For Leopard Print

Hi Lovelies!

I have loved leopard print for as long as I can remember. Even before it was popular. Yeah, that’s right….I loved leopard even when it was uncool to love leopard. Remember this post? Yeah, that is where the burgundy and leopard mixture obsession started…..and well, it hasn’t ended. I L-O-V-E this combination! In fact, I really just love everything about this outfit! These burgundy jeans from H&M are so comfortable, this is my favorite sweater, I obviously just stated how I feel about leopard, and I love the touch of pale pink under the sweater! (Can you tell I’ve been in a pink mood this week? hehe:))

I had originally planned on getting a burgundy skirt to go with all of my leopard print, but I haven’t been able to find one that I like. Well, other than this beauty here….but I can’t justify to myself spending $88 on one skirt…unless its black.

Anyone else see a cute burgundy skirt I can snatch up?

Until tomorrow…

On Wednesdays We Wear Pink

Hi Lovelies!

Happy hump-day! Today’s outfit is fitting being that it’s Wednesday and my outfit is pink:) The funny part about this pink top, is that it is one of my “going out” tank tops. The back has a cut out and looks really cute with a bandeau, it’s also pretty sheer by itself. So, I decided to take my “going out” top and make it a little classier and almost professional for you! Well, let’s be honest…add a blazer to anything and it will look 10 times classier. So here you have it, my nighttime look turned daytime:

A Little Scarf Goes A Long Way

Hi Lovelies!

This scarf if one of my fabulous finds from New York City. I spent a grand total of $5 on it! Yeah, that’s right, $5…I am such a good bargain hunter! I saw one just like it on Pinterest and knew exactly what I was looking for when I was walking around the city shopping.I love how something as simple as a scarf can make an entire outfit seem less plain.
